Circourt, France — Observation of orange-red lights in the sky

Summary

On November 14, 1979, at 5:42 PM, an Air Force officer on leave observed unusual luminous phenomena in the sky while driving. He and his passenger saw two orange-red lights stabilize at about 100 meters above the woods, which extinguished one after the other. A double bang occurred shortly after, and a minute later, two more lights appeared and also extinguished. The phenomenon remains unexplained.
