About Open UAP
Open UAP is a navigable index of 476 primary-source records on unidentified anomalous phenomena. The records come verbatim from public government archives — beginning with the United States and now including France, the United Kingdom, and other national programmes. Every page on this site links back to the canonical source so a reader can verify what is here against the original file.
The archive is laid out as a pannable spatial canvas. The intent is to give the corpus a shape — to make density, gaps, eras, and agency provenance visible at a glance instead of buried in a filter sidebar.

Records are drawn from these government agencies and stable mirrors. Counts reflect the current archive snapshot.

Methodology
Each agency's public listing is normalised into one typed schema. Previews come from the original release and are cached for performance. Every record links back to the canonical source URL. Open UAP does not republish content — only metadata and direct citations.
AI-generated summaries are validated against the source (every number in the output must appear in the original document). They are page-grounded where the corpus allows, text-grounded when extracted OCR is clean, and metadata-only for heavily-redacted records. Full methodology →
Rights
US federal materials are typically in the public domain (“no known restrictions”). Records from other governments carry their own terms — UK files under the Open Government Licence, others under national copyright with attribution to the originating agency. Mirrors, Wikimedia entries, and reconstructions carry their own attribution. Per-item rights are listed on every record page.
