Noite Oficial dos OVNIs — 'Official UFO Night' (1986)
Summary
On the night of 19–20 May 1986, air-defence radar (CINDACTA) tracked numerous unidentified objects over São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, and the Air Force scrambled F-5 and Mirage fighters to intercept. Air Minister Brigadier Octávio Moreira Lima held a press conference stating the objects were real and technically unexplained. This CENDOC dossier is the Air Force's 1986 file on what became known as Brazil's 'Official UFO Night'.
